Concert Choir

MLHS - ChoirThe Concert Choir is a mixed ensemble, which rehearses during the school day. Students taking this course will receive advanced training in vocal production, correct breathing technique and vowel formation. The Concert Choir performs three concerts during the school year (December and March and May), as well as at various member church services throughout the year.

Wind Ensemble Band

pep-bandWind Ensemble is the top performing instrumental group at MLHS, offered as a full-year course. Led by Mr. James Dulas, wind ensemble performs concerts in the December, March and May, as well as at at area churches throughout the year. The group is comprised of talented students who are using their God given abilities to make wonderful music.

Jazz Band

Joyful Noise

MLHS Joyful NoiseJoyful Noise is a musical worship team that often leads worship for chapel. Led by Mr. Strehlke, this group is comprised of student vocalists and instrumentalists. They perform at association churches, LCMS functions, and other events.

Choir and Band Tours

Both the Concert Choir and the Wind Ensemble participate in out-of-state tours over the Easter Break. Tours do not occur every year.

 

 

DRAMA

Fall Musical

A scene from AnnieMLHS performs a Fall musical production each year. Try outs for the play are held shortly after school begins in the fall. Rehearsals are in the evenings, times determined by the crew.

There are lots of ways to get involved: band players are needed, set production and stage crew.

One Act

Orphan Trains One Act CastThis year, MLHS revived it’s participation in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) One Act Play competition. This competition limits participation to 20 students and the play length to 35 minutes, and culminates with sub-section and section competition in January and February. The top play in each section performs at the State One Act Play Festival at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul.

Auditions are held in late November or early December.

Spring Play

The Miracle WorkerMLHS offers a Spring play each year. Try-outs are held in February. Rehearsals are in the evenings, times determined by the crew.

There are lots of ways to get involved: Costume design, set production and stage crew.
