Mayer Lutheran High School rests on fifty-four pastoral acres, bounded by trees and small neighborhoods in Mayer, MN, less than forty minutes west of the Twin Cities.
Mayer Lutheran is entering an exciting phase in our history as we undertake a significant building program–the largest project since the founding of the school back in 1960! The “Prepared to Build” Campaign is underway to raise the needed support to complete our plan. So far, more than $1 million has been raised towards our goal of $2 million, the amount we need to break ground on the final portion of our project. For more information about the plans, please visit our Prepared to Build Capital Campaign page.
Most of the interior work of the existing building has been completed in advance of the final stage of our addition. Electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, and security infrastructures have been updated. New restrooms are nearly complete on the north side of the campus in addition to new entrance and exit drives, parking areas, storm water basins, and landscaping. The major portion that remains to be constructed is a new, secure entrance with a large commons area, unified office space enabling current offices to be converted to classroom space, and a three-court field house.
The “Prepared to Build” Capital Campaign, launched in January, 2016 with a goal of raising $2 million, has passed the halfway point towards the goal. Combined with gifts provided in an earlier campaign six years ago, we are confident that we will be able to break ground on our new school entrance and field house in early 2017.
With an estimated $5.5 million investment in improving our campus and better serving our students, our expansion project will begin a significant chapter in the history of Mayer Lutheran High School.
MLHS Building Update, August 23, 2015:
Early stages of our building project are underway. A complete hallway from the Fine Arts Center to the gymnasium was completed during the summer of 2015. The band room was updated and at new stage shop will be built Fall 2015 on the north side of the Fine Arts Center to serve our drama department and provide a larger, better-equppied shop for our woodworking classes.
The “Prepared to Build” Capital Campaign will launch in the Fall of 2015. With a successful fundraising effort, we pray that we will be able to break ground on our new school entrance and field house this Fall or in the early Spring 2016.
